Jim Dine Hearts

Kindergartners are being introduced to Cincinnati based artist, Jim Dine on their Monday rotation/extra art day. Dine is 79 years old, born in Cincinnati, Ohio, went to UC and Ohio University and is a Pop artist. Children will look at some of his heart paintings and we will discuss what they see. Children will create their own heart art using oil pastel and watercolor paint. They will use a heart shape tracer for the large heart then draw a smaller heart on the inside of it free hand. They will include a pattern in or around their heart and use other various lines learned this year.
