Kindergarten students helped create the rules for the art room. After discussing what we should and should not do, we came up with:
1. Take care of yourself.
2. Take care of others.
3. Take care of the art room and materials.
4. Try your best.

Each child "signed" the art room contract with a finger print. This is displayed on a bulletin board with the rules. If a child breaks a rule, they will get 1 reminder. If a child needs more than 1, they will go to the calm down/thinking bag until they are ready to try again. They will show me they are ready by showing me a thumbs up. (I don't expect this to happen very often; art is a ton of fun and the children are extremely motivated and excited.) I also explained that they could choose to go to the bag on their own if they get frustrated during art.
